People with anxiety and stress often self-medicate with alcohol or drugs, which can lead to further challenges.

Our stress response is a normal occurrence meant to protect us from predators and other harm. Our bodies secrete cortisol and adrenaline so that all of our resources are prepared for the fight or flight response.
