We all have one. Our bodies are our way of interacting with the environment, but we live in a culture that discourages satisfaction with ourselves (capitalism would fall apart if we were happy with how we looked). We are inundated with messages and images that pressure us to conform in terms of size, gender expression, and appearance.
Being affected by society’s obsession with body image has the potential to develop into other serious psychological or physical body disorders.
My office is a place where you can explore whatever issues arise in your life, free of any pressure to conform. I support the Health at Every Size model. I meet you where you’re at, and my support is informed by an intimate understanding of what it is like to live in a world that discourages uniqueness and choice. I am committed to creating a safe space of exploration for all people.
